Meet The Ochs

Boutique Home Design & Building Services is the realization of a shared passion between Kurt and Peggy Ann Och. Their journey together is built on a deep love for home design, craftsmanship, and the art of building spaces that tell a story.
Our Story

Kurt Och started his entrepreneurial journey at 19, launching Kurt Och Painting in 1989. With a natural ability for leadership, he quickly began running crews and found himself deeply engaged in the world of home construction. Growing up in apartments after his parents' divorce, Kurt had little exposure to home maintenance. His original goal was simply to make a living, but he quickly discovered a deep fascination with homes—their construction, design, and the creativity involved in bringing them to life.
Over the years, Kurt expanded his expertise through various ventures, including Professional Coatings (partnership 1997-2003). His career trajectory led him to Matt Beecher Builders (MBB) in 2013 as a Contract Project Manager, where he refined his skills in high-end home construction and project management.

Peggy Ann Och, the daughter and sister of plumbers, grew up immersed in the world of homebuilding. She credits her career to her brothers, Wayne and Keith Stearns, who gave her an early start in the industry at their family company, Stearns Supply Center (1992-2000). There, Peggy Ann built a strong foundation in showroom management and product selection, paving the way for her next role at Kitchens by Teipen (2000-2004), where she refined her expertise in high-end cabinetry and design.
In 2004, Peggy Ann joined MBB, where she spent 20 years shaping homes through her talent in cabinet design, interior selections, and project management, bringing a keen eye for detail to every project. Her work gained national recognition when one of her kitchens was featured in a Cambria Countertops advertising campaign, appearing in promotional literature and even on the sides of trucks.
Kurt and Peggy Ann's synergy became undeniable during Home-A-Rama 2015, where their collaboration on the award-winning Sagamore home with MBB earned the People’s Choice Award. That same year, Delta Faucet filmed a commercial at the Home-A-Rama project. It was during this time that Kurt and Peggy Ann discovered how seamlessly they worked together as a team, combining their strengths and shared passion for home design to elevate each project.

In 2019, Kurt and Peggy Ann officially launched Boutique Home Design & Building Services, bringing together decades of experience and a shared passion for creating extraordinary homes. That same year, they also began their next great chapter—becoming husband and wife. Their partnership extends beyond business; as self-proclaimed "house geeks," they live and breathe home design.

Kurt and Peggy Ann find joy in exploring homes, studying architecture, and continuously pushing the boundaries of creativity. Their expertise and reputation have even led clients to fly them to other states to work on additional projects, a testament to their trusted vision and craftsmanship.
